SJ Seawolves Seize the Day against Crandall Chargers
(Saint John, NB) Coming off a two game losing streak, the SJ Seawolves snatched a stunning victory from the jaws of defeat in their game at the Canada Games Stadium against the Crandall Chargers. With a finishing score of 4-1 over the Chargers, this may be one of the SJ Seawolves's best performances so far this season. Making strong offensive plays throughout the course of both halves of the game, the Seawolves's Griffin Cassidy (3 SH, 3 SOG, 1 G) delivered the first major goal of the game with a goal in the first half that was quickly followed up by an opposing goal from the Chargers' Ibrahima Diane (3 SH, 1 SOG, 1 G). Alas, this was not enough to reverse the Charger's fates who were soon after scored on again by the Seawolves's Aidan Marcantonio (3 SH, 2 SOG, 1 G).
This early back and forth set the stage for the second half with the Seawolves's Connor Sikasak (3 SH, 2 SOG, 1 G) and Malek Karoui (3 SH, 3 SOG, 1 G) each scoring over Charger goalie Evan Couturier in a series of successful plays throughout the course of the second half. While the Chargers' Adamar Goncalves (3 SH, 1 SOG) and Jacob Agbor (1 SH, 1 SOG) fought desperately to turn the tide, their efforts were stopped at every turn by the Seawolves's strong defensive maneuvers. Now, with the Chargers having lost out against the Seawolves, the eager anticipation is in the air for the Seawolves's follow-up game against the UKC Blue Devils on September 28.
Until then, howl on, Seawolves!
